Ideal for anyone who wants to clear their head after a long day at work: A five-kilometre short jogging route. Starting from the train station in Dettenhausen, through the Schönbuch nature reserve, past the local shooting club, the Weiler adventure golf and the tennis hall. After a short stretch along the road, the route then follows the Schaich back to the Dettenhausen railway station. Especially suitable for those who like to remain unseen while exercising and appreciate the beauty of the forest

Turn-by-turn directions

At the train station in Dettenhausen, we start out highly motivated for a 20-minute jog. Heading northwest, we first cross the industrial area and make our way to the edge of the forest. Passing the car parks of the Ritter company, we pass Herbert Neff GmbH and use the wide trail to reach the forest path. Following the gravel path on the right through Schönbuch Nature Park, we enjoy the view into the expanse of the forest and find our rhythm with a low, constant gradient.

When the ground changes from gravel to tar, we know: The site of the Weil im Schönbuch shooting club is not far away. Once we have left this behind us, we cross the Ramsbach stream and walk uphill, past the adventure golf and hear the cackling of the chickens from afar. Halfway up, we pass the small animal breeder and try to keep our breathing steady, despite the strong smell. When we reach the end of the path, a view of the hard-working players in the Weilem tennis hall awaits us.

We turn right and walk through the grass along the road until the footpath begins after a few metres. Only up to the next right-hand bend can the residents watch us run. As soon as we turn right into Gansweideweg, the edge of the forest is waiting for us and we are once again among ourselves.

After a short stretch downhill, we cross the rippling Schaich and continue to keep to the right. We follow the level gravel path that winds parallel to the railway tracks. Through the tunnel, we follow the tarmac path past the cowshed, along the allotments, up to the residential area.

A final sprint up Brückenstraße takes us onto Bahnhofstraße just before the railway tracks. We slow down and, after stretching at the station, make our way home with satisfaction.
