The Württemberger Weinradweg invites you to discover Württemberg's wine culture by bike over a total of 360 kilometers. The stage described here leads for almost 120 km through vineyards and various cultivation areas between Esslingen am Neckar and Rottenburg am Neckar. On the first section, the vines thrive on the southern slopes of the Neckar valley above the city of Esslingen, the basis for the renowned and internationally recognized wines of the wine growers Esslingen. The wine adventure trail, which leads through the steep slopes of the city of Esslingen, offers breathtaking views, past Plochingen and the Hölderlin town of Nürtingen to the next wine-growing region. The home of the famous valley wine is located at the foot of Hohenneuffen Castle. The town of Neuffen is located here as a wine-growing community with one of the highest vineyards in Württemberg. We continue to the Upper Neckar growing area, the smallest growing area in Württemberg, which extends around the cities of Tübingen and Rottenburg. The history of viticulture comes to life in the Unterjesinger wine press museum. If you want to combine a wonderful view over the Neckar valley up to the elevations of the Albtrauf with wine knowledge, you should not miss the wine trail at the foot of the Wurmlinger chapel.
